I have decided to blog about this even though it has almost been a year since we visited, just because i missed traveling. This 2017 i’ll make sure the travel category in this blog will be filled (pinky promise!)
September 2015. Our first tour happened when we were in Second Year college and it was an all in tour within Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte for 2 days and 1 night. Ilocos was magnificent, we’ve been to everywhere and the place is just simply breathtaking. Ilocos is known as one of the most historic places in the Philippines, from old villages, old churches, old houses and museums, everything is old but definitely the experience is gold.
There’s a lot of places and attractions to visit in Ilocos but here’s few of my favorites. First up is Calle Crisologo Heritage Houses. It is a street in the city of Vigan composed of old houses and souvenir shops and other establishments for tourists. What i love about this place is it will give you the vintage feels, because you will arrive there in a ‘kalesa’ (and old mode of traveling similar to carriage, with a sit and horse) and it feels like the Spanish era again with everything you see around you.
It is not really an adventurous site, but it will be perfect for people who just love to chill and relax and eat food with their old designed restaurants. As much as how it looked good in the morning, Calle Crisologo at night is just as magical. The food at the same time is delicious my personal favorite is the Vigan Empananda and Bagnet. I’m really looking forward at just spending a whole day in this place with my friends and we’ll definitely have a good time.
Next one in my favorites list is La Paz Sand Dunes in Laoag. Unlike the chill, vibey Calle Crisoslogo this place is for the hard one (which is also me). It is a wide vast of land and sand for 4×4 ride, sand boarding, and other sand activities they offer. Part of our tour is a ride at the 4×4, and let me just tell you it was truly insane. Together with my friends we were just screaming the whole time and our hearts are beating fast. We rode for like an hour (i don’t know) we are going down, we are going up and mostly down and after the ride we are thrown off to the sand boarding platform and slide our way down.
This experience is just crazy. If i had to do it one more time, i’ll do it a hundred times more. Despite of the heavy sunlight. which is definitely not my thing we still had the time of our lives with this wild, extreme ride.
My last favorite part of our tour was the hotel we checked in to. We stayed a night at a deluxe double room at Playa Tropical. “Built in traditional Balinese style, you can relax in truly fabulous settings that celebrate your privacy with charming thatched roof villas, private pools, unique garden bathrooms and exquisite interiors featuring Balinese art. Enjoy heavenly views from the swimming pool that looks out at the ocean. This exclusive resort reflects the wonderful romance of Bali.” (http://www.playatropicalilocos.com)
I will definitely recommend the hotel for everything in there is just beautiful. They have variety of rooms that is perfect how much your budget is. The hotel is located at the sea side and it also has a swimming pool for the guests. The exterior design of the garden is impeccable and classy. They have plenty of activities for the guest to enjoy like indoor sports games like billiards, table tennis and you can also play beach volleyball. If you are looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay Playa Tropical is really a great place to stay (you have my word).
